Friday: Wantagh, Roslyn With Big Wins

Friday was a busy day in Nassau County with many games played. Some of the big winners included Wantagh and Roslyn. 

Roslyn 13, Carey 7: Leading the scoring for Roslyn (3-0) were Alex Siegel (3g-4a), Alex Gatto (3g-3a), and Spencer Cymbler (1g-3a).
Jacob Goldberg made 8 saves for the win for the Buldogs.  Carey (2-1) was led by Ethan Pelzer and Matt Metzger who each had two goals and one assist.

Hewlett 9, North Shore 6:  Sawyer DeSeve led the scoring for North Shore with 3 goals and 2 assists. Andrew Fabiilli played well in goal for the Vikings and finished with 15 saves. [ BOX SCORE] 

Locust Valley 13, Jericho 5: Leading the scoring for Locust Valley (2-1) was Conner Terrell (3g-5a), Harrison Blair (1g-3a), Jack Russo (2g-2a), and Owen Hickey (3g-0a). Charlie Dickman made 14 saves to earn the win. Jericho (1-3) was led by junior goalie Brandon Klein with 14 saves.    [ BOX SCORE] 

Plainedge 16, Mepham 4: Leading the scoring for Plainedge (2-1) were senior attackman Caden Morra (4g-4a), senior M/A Travis Acquilino (5g-2a), and senior attackman Braden Donnellan (2g-2a). Leading the scoring for Mepham (1-2) were attackman Alessandro Walaitis and sophomore A/M Owen Heller with two goals apice.   [ BOX SCORE] 

Oceanside 10, MacArthur 9: Oceanside outscored MacArthur five to one in the fourth quarter for the win. . Jake Perrincheif scored with 3:46 left in the game to tie it at 9-9. And with 0:47 seconds left Andrew Dato fed Andrew Piccola for the winning score.  Oceanside is now 2-1 on the season, MacArthur 1-1.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Wantagh 11, Farmingdale 6: Tied at four at halftime, the Warriors (3-1) outscored Farmingdale (1-1) 7-2 in the second half for the win. Leading the scoring for Wantagh (3-1) were senior attackman Antony Tsakos (3g-1a), junior midfielder Jake Martini (2g-2a), senior A/M Danny Fisenne (3g-0a), and freshman A/M Devin Paccione (2g-0a). Kyle Conklin made 10 saves for the win. Brendan O'Keefe led the Dalers with 2 goals and 1 assist and Mike Ippoliti made 13 saves.  [ BOX SCORE]

Freeport 16, Great Neck North 15: Leading the scoring for Freeport (3-1) was Matthew Drayton (5g-1a), Caleb Mann (5g-0a), Jorden Richardson (1g-3a). Daniel Perlman scored 10 goals and an added an assist for Great Neck North (0-2). Aaron Elihu went 19 for 35 on faceoffs along with 16 groundballs. Brian Scheidt had 14 saves in goal for the Blazers.  BOX SCORE]

Oyster Bay 15, Valley Stream 6: Oyster Bay (3-0) was led by 8th grader Peter Sapienza (5g-3a), junior A/M Jagger Romano (5g-1a), and junior attackman Joseph Gotti (2g-2a) . Valley Stream goalie Landon Somerville made 31 saves in the loss.    [ BOX SCORE]

Division Ave 7, Malverne/East Rockaway 5: Leading the scoring for Division Ave (1-3) were junior midfielder Jake Larocca (1g-3a), junior midfielder Ethan Sterzel (3g-0a), and senior defensive midfielder Daniel Ainbinder (2g-0a). Malverne/East Rockaway was led by junior goalie Matt Larin who made 13 saves.     [ BOX SCORE]

Syosset 16, LI Lutheran 2: Syosset (1-2) picked up their first win of the season behind the scoring from Brody Waxer (3g-5a), and Adam Giovinco (2g-2a). Nine different players scored for the Braves.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Baldwin 15, Sewanhaka 0: Baldwin (2-2) was led by Brady Mahler (6g-1a), Logan Kirchner (3g-1a), and Jake Davidson (3a). Sewanhaka senior Jalen Brown finished 17 saves.     [ BOX SCORE]

Floral Park 4, Bellmore JFK 3: James Gorman scored the game winning goal with under a minute to go on an assist from Steven Baranoski. Joey Neuscheler had 14 saves in the win. Goalie Ben Greco made 14 saves in the loss. for Bellmore JFK (2-2)    [ BOX SCORE]

Hicksville 18, Glen Cove 7: The Comets were led by Brendan Dalton 5g’s & 5 assists and 11 gb’s. Mike Gilbert had 6 goals and Jesse Bentrewicz had 4g & 2 assists, JT Kelly had 2 g & 5 assists. Peter Agapito won 25/29 faceoffs & had 7 gb’s. Glen Cove (0-2) was led by Nick Ladeairous with four goals. Matteo Cameron finished with 15 saves and now has over 200 saves in his career.  [ BOX SCORE]
