Game Results for Tuesday April 9
With games in every conference today, here are today's recaps: In Conf A - 
Game Results For Monday, April 8th
South Side 15, Lynbrook 6
The Cyclones moved to 6-0 with a non-league win over host Lynbrook. Michael Melkonian won 17 of 19 faceoffs and scored a goal for South Side and teammate Michael Aiello had three goals and three assists. Junior Cullen Lynch added four goals and an assist. Saturday Roundup- Garden City, Farmingdale Win Big Non-League Matchups
Both Garden City and Farmingdale won big non-league matchups on Saturday, April 6th. The Trojans improved their overall record to 4-2 with a 9-3 victory over visiting Ward Melville. Garden City has now won three straight games against the Patriots who, who are now 3-2 on the season. Carson Kraus and Andrew Ottomanelli each scored two goals and an each had an assist, and Denis Fargione made 10 saves for Garden City. Luke Cascadden (4-6) and Brayden Robertiello (6-9) combined to win 10 of 15 faceoffs and the Garden City defense held Ward Melville to one second half goal
Port Washington Picks Up First Victory; Manhasset Falls At Darien
Port Washington 7, Massapequa 6
Port Washington notched their first win of the season today with a hard-fought 7-6 victory at Massapequa. The game not only gave the Vikings a much-needed victory after four straight losses, but it was a critical win in terms of the Class A playoff seeding. Port came out on fire, leading 4-1 after the first quarter. Pequa rallied, but the Vikings held on for the win. Brendan Lang scored twice, Griffin Marvin won 13 of 17 faceoffs, and freshman goalie Max Eynon made 16 saves for Port Washington. who defeated the Chiefs (3-3) for the third consecutive time. Results From Friday, April 5th- Calhoun Remains Undefeated!
Calhoun 12, Mepham 11
Calhoun reamined undefeated by defeating host Mepham in Conference B, 12-11.  Harley Finkelstein led the Colts (6-0) with four goals and an assist and Mark Restivo made 16 saves in goal. Mepham was down 9-3 at halftime, but rallied with seven third quarter goals. Liam Williams (3g-3a), Owen Heller (4a), and James Henningson (4g-0a) were the offensive leaders for the Pirates (3-2). [ BOX SCORE] ... MORE SCORE
South Side Defeats Garden City For The First Time In 16 Years!
South Side 7, Garden City 4
Michael Muscarella made 13 saves to lead a South Side defense that held Garden City (3-2) to two goals over the first three quarters en-route to a 7-4 victory for the undefeated Cyclones (5-0). The home victory for South Side was their first against the Trojans in 16 years, and South Side had been 0-17 over that span. Michael Aiello was the high scorer for South Side with two goals and an assist, and faceoff star Michael Melkonian won 9 of 15 draws. A goal by Cole DiPietro out of a time-out shortyly before halftime, turned out to be the game-winner for the Cyclones.  South Side is now 4-0 in Power League play.   [ BOX SCORE]  ...MORE SCORE
Weather Halts Numerous Games In Nassau-But Not Division!
WEDNESDAY - Poor weather conditions led to the cancellation/postponement of numerous games in Nassau today. In the only game that was played, Division Avenue defeated Glen Cove, 12-1. Liam Burns led the scoring for Division (2-2) with three goals and three assists, and Tim Stanley and Chris Gordon each scored three goals. William Darvid added three assists and goaltender Cristian Barone made 12 saves to earn the win. Glen Cove fell to 2-3 with the loss.   [ BOX SCORE

Saturday - Results From A Full Slate of Games
Wantagh 12, Comsewogue 9
8th grader Luke Martini had six goals to lead Wantagh (2-2) past Comsewogue (1-2) in an inter-county matchup. Sophomore Devin Paccione had two goals and four assists and Will Greaves won 16 of 25 faceoffs for the Warriors. [ BOX SCORE] ... MORE SCORE

Wednesday - Massapequa 10, Syosset 8
A great rivalry was renwed today with a matchup between traditional Class A powers, Massapequa and Syosset. With the development of the Power League this season, a game normally played in early May took place in late March but did not disappoint in terms of intensity and big plays.

2024 SEASON PREVIEW PART FOUR: CLASS C AND D
Nassau Class C lacrosse in 2024 has a different look to it with defending state champion Manhasset moving up to Class B. Joining the Indians are a senior-laden South Side team and a Carey squad that looks to be much improved. This shift leaves Wantagh as the top-dog in Class C, with a number of other schools hoping to make it to Hofstra in May and raise the championship trophy

Nassau Class B in 2024 looks to be a dogfight between Garden City, Manhasset, and South Side. The Trojans won the NYS Class B championship last year, while Manhasset was the NYS Class C champion. Both are now fighting for the chance to win Nassau..
2024 SEASON PREVIEW PART ONE: SEEDING
With the start of the 2024 season just a week away, it's the perfect time for a preview of the upcoming campaign. This spring boys lacrosse in Nassau County will have a different league/conference alignment for the first time in several years with the creation of a select power conference. 
LOOKING BACK AT THE 2023 SEASON
2023 was a banner year for lacrosse in Nassau County with fifty-one teams competing with over 1,745 athletes on varsity rosters. There were 429 regular season games played and the 199 conference games determined the regular season champions. Farmingdale (Class A), Garden City (Class B), and Manhasset (Class C/D) each finished on top with 8-0 records in conference play. 
Week One Preview

 BLAXEIGHT REPORT:  This week marks the start of interscholastic boys lacrosse competition in Nasssau County. Over thirty-five games will be played this week, with many squads mixing in scrimmages as well. 


NYS Championship Streak Continues

 BLAXEIGHT REPORT:  With victories by three teams on June 11, 2021, Section VIII Boys Lacrosse continued an impressive streak of winning state championships that dates back to 2009. With wins by Garden City in Class B, Manhasset in Class C, and Cold Spring Harbor in Class D, Nassau has had a state champion in twelve consecutive seasons
