Week Three Preview
With Passover and Easter holidays right around the corner, there is a lighter slate of games this week. New York does not allow for competition during Passover and Easter, so we have no games on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. The busiest days are Tuesday and Saturday with over thirty total games between the two, and many teams are starting conference play this week as well. Here are some interesting matchups this week:
Plainedge at Island Trees (Monday, April 3, 5:00 pm): Two teams, both with 2-1 records, are looking to make noise in the C/D Conference this season. Both squads feature some talented offensive players, so this one could be a shootout. Take the over!
Hewlett at Lynbrook (Monday, April 3, 7:15 pm): This one will be a battle between two neighboring schools that know each other well. The Owls (2-1) and Bulldogs (1-1) both lost to Calhoun and seem to be equally matched.
Cold Spring Harbor at Yorktown (Monday, April 3, 1:00 pm): The Seahawks finish their annual trip with an intersectional contest at traditional Section One powerhouse Yorktown. The Harbor (2-1) is coming off an overtime win against Rye on Saturday and for the Huskers this is their season opener.
Massapequa at Oceanside (Tuesday, April 4, 5:00 pm): This game is the A Conference opener for both squads. Massapequa (0-3) has played a difficult non-league schedule so far and is looking for their first win. The Sailors are 2-1 for first-year head coach Kevin Anderson and are looking to upset the Chiefs.
Radnor (Pa) at Garden City (Tuesday, April 4, 3:00 pm): Pennsylvania powerhouse Radnor (3-1) comes to town to take on the Trojans. Stevie Finnell has been the hero in both Garden City (2-1) victories. Last year Garden City defeated Radnor, 11-8. Both teams feature several D-1 recruits committed to top schools.

Darien (Ct) at Manhasset (Saturday, April 8, 3:30 pm): The annual matchup of two nationally ranked programs. Darien defeated Fairfield Prep in their opener Saturday and will play Connecticut prep power Brunswick before their matchup with the Indians on Saturday. Manhasset (2-0) will face Carey on Tuesday before trying to avenge last year's 13-11 loss to the Blue Wave.
Comsewogue at Wantagh (Saturday, April 8, 11:00 am): An intersting inter-county matchup with red-hot Wantagh (4-1) looking to defend home turf against the defending Suffolk Class B champion. Intersting fact: both teams share the same school nickname-the Warriors.
