Monday: Massapequa Tops South Side

The sixth week of the season beagn with nine games, all non-league contests. In the biggest game of the day, Massapequa broke open a close game with visiting South Side by scoring five unanswered goals in the third quarter en route to an 11-5 victory. 

Roslyn 11, St. Dominic 6: Alex Gatto had three goals and four assists to lead Roslyn (8-1) in non-league. Alex Siegel had two goals and two assists and Spencer Cymbler scored twice and added an assist.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Syosset 15, Locust Valley 7:  Freshman attackman Brody Waxer scored eight goals to lead Syosset (6-4) in non-league. Adam Giovinco scored a goal and added five assists for the Braves. Owen Hickey led Locust Valley (7-3) with three goals.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Great Neck North 13, Lawrence 4: Daniel Perlman scored eight goals and had two assists for the Blazers (5-2) in non-league. Eden Hakimi had two goals and five assists for GN North while Kody Kirchner had two goals and two assists for Lawrence (5-7).  [ BOX SCORE] 

New Hyde Park 15, Great Neck South 8: Aidan Garvey scored three goals and tallied five assists and Nicholas Rios had four goals and two assists to lead New Hyde Park (4-6) in non-league. Cody McLean added two goals and had four assists for NHP. Edwin Serpas and George Toumbekis had three goals each and Serpas added an assist for Great Neck South (5-3).   [ BOX SCORE] 

Massapequa 11, South Side 5: Will Birney scored three goals and Aidan Christie scored twice and added four assists for Massapequa (5-5) in non-league. Matt Jannotte made 12 saves to earn the win for the Chiefs. Michael Melkonian won 15 of 20 faceoffs and had two assists for South Side (7-3).  [ BOX SCORE] 

Baldwin 9, Glen Cove 7: Brady Mahler scored three goals and had an assist to lead Baldwin (7-2) in non-league. Logan Kirchner scored twice and had an assist for the Bruins. Matt Basil (2g-1a) and Nick Ladeairous (2g) were the high scorers for Glen Cove (0-8).   [ BOX SCORE] 

Bellmore JFK 9, Jericho 3: Ben Greco made 17 saves to lead Bellmore JFK (5-5) in non-league. Joe Battaglia and Max Zaransky each had four points (2g-2a). Brandon Klein led Jericho (4-5) with ten saves in the loss.    [ BOX SCORE] 

Oyster Bay 11, East Meadow 2: The Baymen improved to 5-2 thanks to six points from both Joe Gotti (3g-3a) and Peter Sapienza (4g-2a) in non-league. Tommy Augusto made 14 saves for East Meadow (1-6).  [ BOX SCORE] 

Mepham 14, Plainview JFK 2: Alessandro Walaitis scored three goals and assisted on three more to lead Mepham (3-7) in non-league. Anthony DiSalvo won 14 of 17 faceoffs for the Pirates. Sam Erlich made 15 saves for Plainview JFK (4-7).    [ BOX SCORE]
