Nassau Class B First Round: Bellmore JFK and Mepham Advance

Bellmore JFK 7, Herricks 5: Ben Greco made 13 saves and held Herricks to one goal over the first three quarters to lead Bellmore JFK to a 7-5 win in the opening round of the Nassau Class B playofs. The Cougars were led offensively by Max Zaransky with two goals and two assists and Joe Battaglia with three goals. Greco, a Hamilton commit, raised his save total to 240 on the season for Bellmore JFK, the #9 seed who advances to play at top-seeded Garden City on Monday. Herricks finishes the season at 5-12.   [ BOX SCORE] 

Mepham 13, Jericho 8: Alesaandro Walaitis totaled eight points (4g-4a) to lead #7 seeded Mepham (8-9) over #10 Jericho (6-11) in Nassau Class B first round playoff action. Anthony DiSalvo won 19 of 22 faceoffs and Owen Heller added three goals and two assists for the Pirates. Heller, a sophomore,  now has 65 points for the season. Nicholas Polizotto had three goals and three assists for Jericho and goaltender Brandon Klein made 20 saves. Klein, a junior, finished the season with 216 saves for Jericho. With the win, Mepham advances to play at second-seeded South Side (12-4) on Monday.  [ BOX SCORE]
