Class B Final Is Set: Trojans vs. Colts

Garden City 7, Long Beach 2: Top seeded Garden City (14-4) defeated #5 Long Beach (10-8) by the score of 7-2 in the semifinal round of the Nassau Class B playoffs played last night at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. Carson Kraus scored three goals to lead the Trojans and teammate Jack Archer had a goal and two assists. Garden City outscored the Marines 4-0 in the pivotal second quarter that gave the defending NYS Class B champions at 5-1 halftime lead. Jack Miller and Luke Hartman each scored for Long Beach. Garden City will play Cahoun in a rematch of last year's final, won by the Trojans, Tuesday, May 30th at 7:30 pm at Hofstra. 

Calhoun 6, South Side 5: Third seeded Calhoun (15-3), led by three goals and one assist from Jayden Finkelstein, defeated #2 South Side, 6-5, in a Nassau Class B semifinal at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. The game was a tense, back and forth affair, which kept the fans on the edge of their seat throughout the game. Mark Resivo made 13 saves for Calhoun, while Michael Melkonian won 11 of 15 faceoffs for South Side (13-5). Owen West and Cole DiPietro each scored two goals for the Cyclones. Calhoun advances to face Garden City in a rematch of last years Class B championship, won by Garden City, 12-5.  [ BOX SCORE]
