2024 SEASON PREVIEW PART ONE: SEEDING
With the start of the 2024 season just a week away, it's the perfect time for a preview of the upcoming campaign. This spring boys lacrosse in Nassau County will have a different league/conference alignment for the first time in several years with the creation of a select power conference. This grouping of teams represents some of the strongest programs in Nassau and takes into account recent finishes as well as potential for the upcoming season. These teams will play each other once, creating some intriguing matchups, while maintaining traditional rivalry games such as the Woodstick Classic. "Basically, the Power (Select) Conference was developed to bring better competition for the highest ability teams in Section VIII as well as allowing other, lesser skilled teams to compete successfully" said Jim Amen, Jr., the long-time Coordinator for Boys Lacrosse in Nassau County.
Outside of these nine teams, the remaining programs will continue to compete in conferences based on enrolllment classifications as determined by the NYSPHSAA, as has been done in the past. At the end of the season, all eligible teams will compete for the four classification championships as usual. The full seeding is listed below.
