Wednesday, April 24th-Wantagh Defeats Manhasset, GC and CSH Win in Westchester

Wantagh 8, Manhasset 6
Down 3-1 after the first, Wantagh outscored Manhasset (8-4) 7-1 in the second and third quarter to defeat the Indians, 8-6. Will Greaves won 17 of 18 faceoffs, Devin Paccione had two goals and two assists, and Dylan Martini had three goals and one assist to lead the Warriors (9-3). It was the first win for Wantagh against Manhasset since 2012. [ BOX SCORE]

The Braves stormed out to a 6-1 first quarter lead and withstood a furious comeback in the second half to defeat Port Washington in the Power League. David Disque scored five goals, including the game-winner with 10:07 left in the fourth quarter. Brody Waxer added two goals and two assists for Syosset (5-6). Steve Braunshweiger scored three goals for the Vikings and Tommy McCarvill added two goals. Goaltenders Max Eynon of Port Washington (13) and Josh Weisenfeld of Syosset combined for 25 saves.   [ BOX SCORE]

Floral Park 6, Hewlett 4
Floral Park defeated Hewlett, 6-4, in a Conference C/D matchup. Steven Baranoski scored three goals and Ben Meighan totaled two goals and an assist for the Knights (11-1). Hewlett now is 7-4. [ BOX SCORE] 

Mineola 11, West Hempstead 1
Mineola improved to 8-4 overall with a dominant win over visiting West Hempstead. Joe O'Connell had six points (3g, 3a) and Jack McCormack had five goals and an assist for the Mustangs. Kayden Nuzzi scored the lone goal for the Rams (1-10). [ BOX SCORE] 

Calhoun 16, Jericho 3
Leading the scoring for Calhoun (12-1) was Harley Finkelstein with four goals and an assist and Braden Garvey and Nick Voll each had a goal and three assists. Jericho's Tyler Chawla scored two goals. The Jayhawks are now 8-5. [ BOX SCORE] 

Herricks 15, Baldwin 2
Herricks (9-3) won their sixth straight game by dominating Baldwin in Conference A. Riley Royals (6g, 0a), Troy Madden (4g, 1a), and Tommy Gaudio (1g, 4a) led the offensive assualt for the Highlanders. Baldwin fell to 5-5.

Plainview JFK 18, Long Island Lutheran 4
Brett Lipins won 23 faceoffs to lead host Plainview JFK (6-5) over Long Island Lutheran in non-league. Nick Altmann led the way for the offense with seven points (4g, 3a) and Josef Saueracker added three goals and one assist. Long Island Lutheran is 1-5. [ BOX SCORE]
