Wednesday, April 24th-Wantagh Defeats Manhasset, GC and CSH Win in Westchester
Wantagh 8, Manhasset 6
Down 3-1 after the first, Wantagh outscored Manhasset (8-4) 7-1 in the second and third quarter to defeat the Indians, 8-6. Will Greaves won 17 of 18 faceoffs, Devin Paccione had two goals and two assists, and Dylan Martini had three goals and one assist to lead the Warriors (9-3). The Braves stormed out to a 6-1 first quarter lead and withstood a furious comeback in the second half to defeat Port Washington in the Power League. David Disque scored five goals, including the game-winner with 10:07 left in the fourth quarter. Brody Waxer added two goals and two assists for Syosset (5-6). Steve Braunshweiger scored three goals for the Vikings and Tommy McCarvill added two goals. Goaltenders Max Eynon of Port Washington (13) and Josh Weisenfeld of Syosset combined for 25 saves. Herricks (9-3) won their sixth straight game by dominating Baldwin in Conference A. Riley Royals (6g, 0a), Troy Madden (4g, 1a), and Tommy Gaudio (1g, 4a) led the offensive assualt for the Highlanders. Baldwin fell to 5-5.
