Plainview JFK Defeats Long Beach For the First Time in 27 Years!

Plainview JFK 9, Long Beach 8
Juniors Alex Kantrowitz and Nick Altmann each scored four goals to lead Plainview past Long Beach in non-league. Kantrowitz (pictured left) had an assist as well and junior Jake Ilardo made 20 saves for the Hawks, who had last beaten Long Beach in 1998.  Sophomore Cian Donaghy scored four goals and added an assist for the Marines (0-3).

Massapequa 8, Carey 6
Matt Pettis scored four goals to lead the Chiefs down Carey (3-1) at home in non-league play. Michael Jannotte made 11 saves and added an assist for Massapequa. Attackman Tyler Byrnes had three assists as the Chiefs improved to 4-0. For the Seahawks, senior goalie Rich Metzger made 20 saves, which pushed his career total past the 500 saves mark. The Marist commit has 57 saves this season and 515 in his four-year career at Carey.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Great Neck North 9, East Meadow 2
Daniel Perlman had four goals and two assists to lead the Blazers over host East Meadow in non-league. With the six-point performance, Perlman passed the 200 point mark for his career. He nows has 169 goals and 34 assists for 203 total career points over four years. Brian Scheidt made 14 saves for GNN. Senior Jackson Reger totaled 15 saves for the Jets (1-1).   [ BOX SCORE]
