Week Two Review
BLAXEIGHT TEAMS OF THE WEEK

1. Massapequa Chiefs
The Chiefs are undefeated at 4-0 and are averaging 13.5 goals a game for first-year coach Kevin Catalano.

The Chiefs are undefeated at 4-0 and are averaging 13.5 goals a game for first-year coach Kevin Catalano.
2. Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks
A big win last week over Manhasset gave the Seahawks a week to be proud of, and they finished it off by defeating Calhoun at home last Friday. CSH is currently 3-1.
3. South Side
The defending Class B champs went 2-0 last week, with wins over Lynbrook on Monday and an overtime thriller against Roslyn on Friday. The Cyclones are 3-1
BLAX EIGHT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Josh Berger, Roslyn
One of the top uncommitted juniors on Long Island, Berger totaled 12 goals and 3 assists this week in two games against Hewlett and South Side. His 21 total goals and 28 points are tops in Nassau so far this season.
JJ Damo, Farmingdale
Damo, a junior committed to LIU, won 29 of 33 faceoffs with 10 ground balls as Farmingdale split gamesd with Long Beach and West Islip.
Rich Metzger, Carey
Metzger, a senior committed to Marist, made 33 saves this week against St. Dominic and Massapequa, good for a 67.3% save percentage. He has 515 saves in his four year varsity career at Carey.
Brendan Rooney, West Hempstead
Brendan Roooney totaled 19 points this week with seven goals and twelve assists over three games. What's most impressive is that he is in the 8th grade! The young attackman has 26 total points so far this spring.
Rocco Spallina, Massapequa
Sophomore Spallina only finished with one goal against Carey on Thursday last week, but on Tuersday he scored nine goals and added an assist in the Chiefs non-league win over Commack. He has 18 goals this season, which is only one less that the 19 he scored all of last season.
Roy Testa, Cold Spring Harbor
Testa, a sophomore attackman had a strong week with three goals and an assist against rival Manhasset and totaled six points (3g, 3a) against Calhoun. He leads the Seahawks in goals na dpoints this season.
Honorable Mention: Matthew Delligatti, Malverne-East Rockaway; Harley Finkelstein, Calhoun; Brady Kelley, Plainedge; Joe Mainente, Island Trees; Luke Mullen, South Side; Josh Rubin, Jericho.
BLAX EIGHT GAMES TO WATCH THIS WEEK
1. Syosset at Cold Spring Harbor, Tuesday, April 8th, 5:45 pm
This is always one of the best games every year in Nassau. Goalies Josh Weisenberg from Syosset (2-2) and Matt Kammer from CSH (3-1) will play key roles in a game that features some powerful offensive talent on both sides.
2. Rye at Garden City, Tuesday, April 8th, 5:00 pm
The Trojans lost on the road against Severn (MD) yesterday and will need a strong effort to defeat Rye from Section One at home. These squads are perhaps two of the best public school teams in the state. The Garnets feature several top D1 recuits in the 2025 and 2026 classes.
3. Mepham at Plainview JFK, Wednesday, April 9th, 5:00 pm
Both teams are much improved from 2024. The Hawks (3-1) are averaging 13.5 goals per game with a strong junior class and the Pirates (2-2) feature senior scorers Owen Heller and Alessandro Walaitis.
3. Ridgefield (CT) at Manhasset, Thursday, April 10th, 7:00 pm
Powerful Ridgefield opened their season with a 15-7 win over Somers of Section One. They play John Jay before traveling to Manhasset for this great interstate game. The Indians (2-1) have won two of the games played in this series.
4. Farmingdale at Carey, Friday, April 11th, 5:00 pm
This game feature two League 1 teams but is a non-league affair this year. This will be a tough, physical battle and two of this week's POW- goalie Rich Metzger of Carey and JJ Damo of Farmingdale could tip the game in their teams favor with saves of FO wins.
5. Garden City at Wantagh, Friday April 11th, 5:30 pm
This League 1 game features the two teams that most consider to be the best in Nassau. Defending Class C chmapion Wantagh (3-0) has a high-powered offense and the Trojans (2-1) always play great defense. The winner of this game has the inside track to the League 1 championship.
