BLAX EIGHT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Luke Cascadden, Garden City
This faceoff whiz committed to Navy had a great week going a combined 52 of 64 (81%) over three games. He is at 78% for the season with a goal as well.
Charles Koester, Garden City
The Trojans top offensive threat, Koester scored 12 goals and added 6 assists over three games last week. The Lehigh commit, a junior, has 25 points so far this season.
Luke Mullen, South Side
Mullen, a sophomore, has become South Side's top attackman, replacing departed 2024 All-American Michael Aiello. He had eight goals against Yorktown and has 24 goals and 8 assists for 32 points this season.
Patrick Nolan Jr., Herricks
Nolan, a senior LSM headed to Wingate, does it all for Herricks. Last week he had 27 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. He also has been winning faceoffs for the Highlanders, who are 4-1.
Anthony Saragossi, Island Trees
The senior keeper, a four year starter and Hartwick commit, made 30 saves and only allowed 8 goals last week over two games. In a 3-2 loss to Floral Park he made his 500th save, finishing the game with 16 stops for the game and 508 in his career.
Eddie Stradowski, Lynbrook
The senior attackman scored three goals and added nine assists last week for a resurgent Lynbrook squad that has won four straight games. He has 16 assists so far this season.
BLAXEIGHT GAMES OF THE WEEK
Garden City at Bridgewater-Raritan (NJ), Monday, April 14th, 7:00 pm
One of the top public school programs in New Jersey, the Panthers are currently 5-1. Garden City's Luke Cascadden usually gives the Trojans a major possession advantage by dominating the faceoff X.
Wantagh at Massapequa, Tuesday, April 15th, 1:00 pm
Both teams lost on Friday and Wantagh lost again the next day against Ridgefield (CT). This could be a high scoring affair as both teams have offensive players with loads of ability.
Calhoun at Oceanside, Tuesday, April 15th, 5:00 pm
The Colts are 2-4 playing a tough schedule and the Sailors lost two in a row before winning a nailbiter against Plainedge on Friday. A great matchup will be Calhoun's Harley Finkelstein against Oceanside's Dylan Bender, both returning All-County players.
Roslyn at Plainedge, Tuesday, April 15th, 9:30 am
Every game in League 1 will be a battle and this one is no different. Both teams have this game circled as a W on their schedules, so something has to give.
South Side at Carey, Thursday, April 17th, 11:00 am
Carey beat the defending Class A champion in Farmingdale last Friday and they have a shot to defeat another champion when South Side comes to town.
Manhasset at Rumson-Fair Haven, Saturday, April 19th, 11:00 am
The Bulldogs are currently 4-2 but play three games this week before taking on Manhasset at home. Manhasset has lost two in a row to top Connecticut teams and play Syosset before making the trip to the Jersey shore.
