Bethpage, Massapequa, and Farmingdale Post Big Wins On Tuesday

Bethpage 11, Carey 6
Senior Leo Cataldo won 13 of 17 to lead Bethpage past Carey in League 1 play.  Senior attackman Andrew Reinhardt scored four goals and had 2 assists and junior midfielder Chase Solliday had two goals and two assists for the Golden Eagles (3-3). Chris Obertis scored twice for the Seahawks who are now 4-3.   [ BOX SCORE] 

Massapequa 10, Wantagh 7
Massapequa jumped out to a 9-1 halftime lead en route to a 10-7 victory over host Wantagh in League 1 action. Sophomore Rocco Spallina had two goals and two assists and Tyler Byrnes had three goals and an assist for the Chiefs (6-1). Massapequa senior netminder Michael Jannotte was outstanding with 22 saves and sophomore Kolby Roberts won 14 of 19 faceoffs. Junior Devin Paccione scored three goals for Wantagh, who held the Chiefs to one second half tally. Massapequa has won the past nine straight games between the schools, dating back to 2011.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Farmingdale 6, South Side 4
Farmingdale defeated South Side 6-4 at home in League 1 action. The Dalers improve to 4-3 on the season, while South Side falls to 5-2. Cuinn Sunde (2 goals) scored the winning goal on a pass from Kevin Renneisen in the third quarter and Sean Schumeyer tacked on an insurance goal in the fourth for the Dalers. Matt Hughes (right) made 15 saves to lead a Farmingdale defense that limited the Cyclones to one second half goal. Junior midfielder Tyler Sumrani scored two goals for South Side. [ BOX SCORE]

Manhasset 11, Syosset 8
Manhasset improved to 4-3 with a 11-8 League 1 victory over Syosset (3-4). Senior attackman and Navy commit Daniel Kolin (left, below) led all scorers with three goals and three assists for Manhasset, who also received three goals from junior attackman Conor Sheerin. Manhasset has won 8 of the 9 all-time matchups between the two schools.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Plainedge 10, Roslyn 8
Senior Stony Brook commit Owen Donnellan (below, right) scored three times and added three assists for Plainedge in the Red Devils (3-4) League 1 win over Roslyn. Junior Andrew Picardi scored three times for Plainedge, who trailed 5-4 at half but outscored the Bulldogs 6-3 in the second half.   Attackmen Josh Berger and Gavin Ryback each had three points for Roslyn (4-4) and Ethan Goldberg won 17 of 21 faceoffs. [ BOX SCORE] 

MacArthur 16, Hewlett 5
MacArthur wins their fifth consecutive game to improve to 5-2. Hewlett (1-5) was led by Daniel Lankri who made 18 saves in goal.    [ BOX SCORE] 

Port Washington 16, Seaford 6
Senior midfielder Tommy McCarvill scored three goals and added three assists to lead Port Washington past Seaford in League 1. Will Ahmuty chipped in with a goal and 4 assists for the Vikings (7-1). Max Eynon had 12 saves in goal for Port Washington who outscored Seaford 12-4 in the second half.  With the loss, Seaford in now 3-2. [ BOX SCORE] 

Calhoun 10, Oceanside 9
Brandon McCabe scored the game winner with 1:04 left to play to lift host Calhoun (3-4) over Oceanside in League 1 action.  Harley Finkelstein led the Colts with three goals and an assist and Nick Greci made 16 saves in goal. Luke Miller had three goals and an assist for Oceanside (3-3).
