Historical Notes: Playing in the annual "Day of Champions" at Manhasset High School, Ward Melville defeated the host school in the opening game for both teams. John Wilkens scored two goals and control most of the faceoffs for the Patriots who also received a key third quarter goal from Chris Mott. Jim Kenney led Manhasset with 13 saves, 10 in the first half.
