Friday: Lynbrook, Bellmore, CSH Among Winners
DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY- There were fifteen games today and there were no reports from several close games. HHH did have a close 10-9 win against Seaford and Bellmore JFK had a 10-8 win against Plainview JFK. Lynbrook had a 6-2 lead at the halftime break, but Oceanside came back with four unanswered goals in the third quarter. Mike Hendrickson (1g) scored the tying goal for Lynbrook and Max Dantona (5g-1a) scored the game winning goal giving Coach Bill Luzzi his first Varsity win as the Lynbrook Lacrosse Head Coach. Cold Spring Harbor won 8-7 in a very close game against Huntington.
PLAINVIEW JFK 8 - BELLMORE JFK 10 - Bellmore led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter and 6-2 at the half which was enough for the win after both teams scored four in the second half. Bellmore JFK (2-0) saw offensive leadership from senior attackmen Joe Battaglia (5g-1a) and Max Zaransky (4g-2a). In the goal for Bellmore JFK was senior Benjamin Greco with 16s/8ga = 67% (48 mins). SEAFORD 9 - HALF HALLOW HILLS 10 - Seaford came out with a hard fought battle against Half Hollow Hills. The game was fast paced, physical, and back and forth. Seaford held the lead after the first quarter, and for most of the last quarter. Half Hollow Hills was able to tie it up and get the go ahead goal with about two minutes left. Seaford had two last chances to score in the final 18 seconds of the game but came up just short.

LI LUTHERAN 8 - CAREY 16 - Carey scored 10 assisted goals in the first quarter on their way to a 16-8 final Against LI Lutheran. Scoring leaders for Carey were senior attackman Matt Metzger (2g-6a), sophomore attackman Chris Obertis (6g-1a), and sophomore attackman Christian Todaro (2g-3a). In the goal for Carey was sophomore Rich Metzger who was credited with 7s/4ga = 64% and senior Gianluca Magliaro with 6s/4ga = 60%. The Seahawks travel to Long Beach on Tuesday for their next game. Leading the scoring for MacArthur (1-0) were Patrick Cheswick (3g-2a), Ryan Fitzgerald (2g-2a), and Rocco Hogan (0g-3a). Winning face offs for MacArthur was senior Paul Lichter with 9 of 15. Leading the scoring for Hicksville were junior attackman James Kelly (2g-5a), sophomore A/M Brendan Dalton (4g-1a), and junior attackman Jesse Brentrewicz (3g-1a).
