DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY- There were fifteen games today and there were no reports from several close games. HHH did have a close 10-9 win against Seaford and Bellmore JFK had a 10-8 win against Plainview JFK. Lynbrook had a 6-2 lead at the halftime break, but Oceanside came back with four unanswered goals in the third quarter. Mike Hendrickson (1g) scored the tying goal for Lynbrook and Max Dantona (5g-1a) scored the game winning goal giving Coach Bill Luzzi his first Varsity win as the Lynbrook Lacrosse Head Coach. Cold Spring Harbor won 8-7 in a very close game against Huntington.

PLAINVIEW JFK 8  - BELLMORE JFK 10 -  Bellmore led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter and 6-2 at the half which was enough for the win after both teams scored four in the second half. Bellmore JFK (2-0) saw offensive leadership from senior attackmen Joe Battaglia (5g-1a) and Max Zaransky (4g-2a). SEAFORD 9  - HALF HALLOW HILLS 10 -  Seaford came out with a hard fought battle against Half Hollow Hills. The game was fast paced, physical, and back and forth. Seaford held the lead after the first quarter, and for most of the last quarter. Half Hollow Hills was able to tie it up and get the go ahead goal with about two minutes left. Seaford had two last chances to score in the final 18 seconds of the game but came up just short.

LOCUST VALLEY 10  - ROSLYN 14 -  after a 3-3 first quarter, Roslyn scored eight unanswered goals in the second which was enough for the win. Leading the scoring for Roslyn (2-0) were senior A/M Alex Gatto (6g-3a), senior attackman Alex Siegel (4g-2a), and junior midfielder Dan Disanti (1g-0a).

LI LUTHERAN 8  - CAREY 16 -  Carey scored 10 assisted goals in the first quarter on their way to a 16-8 final Against LI Lutheran. Scoring leaders for Carey were senior attackman Matt Metzger (2g-6a), sophomore attackman Chris Obertis (6g-1a), and sophomore attackman Christian Todaro (2g-3a). In the goal for Carey was sophomore Rich Metzger who was credited with 7s/4ga = 64% and senior Gianluca Magliaro with 6s/4ga = 60%. The Seahawks travel to Long Beach on Tuesday for their next game. MACARTHUR 9  - BETHPAGE 2 -  Senior goalie Justin Williams had one save in his three quarters in the cage and his classmate Aidan Jones had  two save in his quarter in the McArthur cage as the Generals handed Bethpage their first loss of the season. Leading the scoring for MacArthur (1-0) were Patrick Cheswick (3g-2a), Ryan Fitzgerald (2g-2a), and Rocco Hogan (0g-3a). Winning face offs for MacArthur was senior Paul Lichter with 9 of 15. The Generals will host Oceanside next Friday.

HICKSVILLE 12  - DIVISION AVE 6 -  Hicksville took a 5-3 win into halftime and scored seven more in the second half for the season opening win. Leading the scoring for Hicksville were junior attackman James Kelly (2g-5a), sophomore A/M Brendan Dalton (4g-1a), and junior attackman Jesse Brentrewicz (3g-1a). Winning face offs for Hicksville was senior Peter Agapito with 14 of 22.  Junior goaltender Frederick Giovanelli made 14s/6ga = 70%

FRIENDS ACADEMY 14  - JERICHO 10 -  Jericho junior goaltender Brandon Klein recorded 19s/14ga = 58%  for the Jayhawks but could not make enough saves for Friends Academy offense who scored nine goals in the first half on their way to the win.  Sophomore midfielder Dylan Chawla had (4g), junior attackman Jack Person had (3g), and senior attackman Jackson Gingold (1g-1a) led the scoring for Jericho who will host Plainview JFK on Monday.
