Friday saw two fantastic finishes among the nine game played, with Carey and Mepham posting close victories in non-league play. 

Carey 9, Syosset 8: Richie Metzger made 20 saves including a last second doorstep save for Carey (4-2) in a 9-8 non-league win over Syosset (4-3). Matt Metzger had three goals and one assist for the Seahawks. Brody Waxer led the Braves with two goals and two assists.   [ BOX SCORE] 

Mepham 11, Bellmore JFK 10, OT: Alessandro Walaitis scored the overtime winner for Mepham (2-5). Walaitis finished with five goals and one assist. Junior goalkeeper Dylan Honerkamp recorded 10 saves in his first start of the season. Goaltender Ben Greco recorded 22 saves for Bellmore JFK (3-4), and Max Zaransky scored five goals.  [ BOX SCORE] 


Baldwin 18, Malverne/East Rockaway 8: Jake Davidson had a career high five points (3g, 2a) while Brady Mahler scored seven goals and added an assist for the Bruins (4-2) in non-league. Cameron Lewis scored three goals and Matthew Delligatti had three assists for Malverne/East Rockaway (2-4).

Calhoun 15, Floral Park 4: Ryan Menghi won 11 of 13 faceoffs for Calhoun (7-1) in non-league. The attack unit of AJ Molinari, Jake Lewis, and Harley Finkelstein combined for eight goals while longstick Peter Thomann scored twice in the first quarter for the Colts. Leading the scoring for Floral Park (3-4) was Steven Baranoski (1g-3a), and Ben Meighan (3g-0a). [ BOX SCORE] 


South Side 13, Lynbrook 5:  Michael Melkonian won 15 of 21 faceoffs for South Side (5-2). Michael Aiello had three goals and two assists and Liam Livingston added one goal and five assists. Michael Fagen scored two goals and had one assist for Lynbrook (3-3) in non-league.    [ BOX SCORE] 


Island Trees 8, MacArthur 5: AJ Saragossi led Island Trees to the non-league win over MacArthur (3-3) with 12 saves in goal. Leading the scoring for the Bulldogs (4-3) was Kian McCoy (2g-1a), Joseph Filocamo (2g-1a), and John Echezuria (2g-0a).  [ BOX SCORE] 


Freeport 10, Sewanhaka 2: Leading the scoring for Freeport (6-2) were Matthew Drayton (2g-2a), Alec Bastien (2g-1a), and Caleb Mann (3g-0a). Jalen Brown had 20 saves in the loss for Sewanhaka (0-8).  [ BOX SCORE]


Long Beach 7, North Shore 5: Finn Morris scored four goals for Long Beach (4-3) in non-league. Matthew D'Aversa and Sawyer DeSeve scored twice each for North Shore (4-3).  [ BOX SCORE] 


Farmingdale 17, Hicksville 2: In the only A Conference game played today, Farmingdale (4-3) had thirteen players score a goal and were led by Brendan O'Keefe's three goals and two assists. Freshman Sean Schumeyer had two goals and an assist, while CJ Mangio, JJ Damo, and Jack Hothersall combined to win 16 of 22 faceoffs. Brandon Dalton scored both goals for Hicksville (3-3).     [ BOX SCORE]
