Wednesday: South Side Tops Calhoun In Conference B Showdown

Twelve games were played on Wednesday in Nassau County, with all the contests conference matchups in A and B. In the most important game played, South Side defeated Calhoun to gain control of second place in Conference B with only two games remaining. Highlights of all the games are as follows:

Roslyn 15, Jericho 6: Alex Gatto had three goals and four assists to lead Roslyn (10-3) over Jericho in Conference B action. Alex Siegel contributed with five goals and three assists, and Mason Wagman won all 15 of his faceoffs for the Bulldogs. Dylan Chawla of Jericho (6-8) scored two goals and had an assist in the loss.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Farmingdale 16, Freeport 3: Twelve players scored for Farmingdale (11-3) in a 16-3 win over Freeport in Conference A. Alex Moloney had a career high goal and four assists to lead the Dalers in scoring. Brendan O'Keefe (2g-2a) and Jake Norton (3g-1a) had four points each, all in the first quarter. Matthew Drayton scored one goal for Freeport (9-6), giving him 43 for the season.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Massapequa 21, Hicksville 1: Michael Durnin led all scorers with two goals and six assists for Massapequa (7-7) in Conference A. Patrick Radomski (3g-2a), Ricky Geier (2g-3a), and Jack Garguilo (3g-2a) each had five points for the Chiefs, who had 12 total players score at least one goal. Frederick Giovanelli made eight saves for Hicksville (6-7).  [ BOX SCORE] 

Port Washington 15, Oceanside 8: Luke Meyer scored five goals and had two assists for Port Washington (9-4) in Conference A. Chase Pastolove had four goals and an assist for the Vikings and John McCarthy had two goals and two assists. Jake Perinchief had three goals and an assist for Oceanside (7-6).  [ BOX SCORE] 

Garden City 18, Mepham 4:  Thirteen players scored at least one goal in the Trojans 18-4 Conference B victory over Mepham. Leading Garden City (10-4) was Jack Archer and Andrew Ottomanelli who each scored three goals and tallied an assist. Owen Heller had a goal and two assists for Mepham ((6-9).   [ BOX SCORE] 

Long Beach 10, MacArthur 6: Cian Donaghy and Jack Miller each scored three goals for Long Beach (8-6) in Conference B. Miller added an assist for the Marines who received 12 saves from Aiden DeRupo in goal. Joe Forcelli scored four times for MacArthur (7-7).   [ BOX SCORE] 

Division 14, Great Neck South 5: Colin Lambert made 16 saves for Division (6-8) in their 14-5 Conference B victory over Great Neck South. Dylan O'Connor scored five goals and added an assist for the winners. Peter Hlampeas (2g-1a) had three points for the Rebels (8-6).  [ BOX SCORE] 

Hempstead 7, Valley Stream 5: Jakkai Stith scored four goals to lead Hempstead over Valley Stream (3-13) in Conference A. Adrian Beltre made 17 saves for the Tigers (5-9), while his Valley Stream counterpart, Keith Grosso totaled 14 saves in the loss.  [ BOX SCORE] 

Great Neck North 14, Elmont 7: The Blazers' Daniel Perlman (6g-3a) totaled nine points to lead all scorers. He now has 81 goals and 20 assists on the season (14 games). Eden Hakami had two goals and four assists for Great Neck North (9-5) in their Conference B victory over Elmont (6-9).   [ BOX SCORE] 

Syosset 17, East Meadow 0: Adam Giovinco scored six goals to lead Syosset in Conference A. Nine other players scored for the Braves (10-5), including Brody Waxer, who had two goals and an assist. Tommy Augusto made 16 saves for East Meadow (1-12).  [ BOX SCORE] 

South Side 10, Calhoun 5: Ryan Mayerhofer scored three goals and had two assists to lead South Side (10-4) over Calhoun (11-3) in Conference B. Michael Melkonian won 16 of 18 faceoffs for the Cyclones and both Cole DiPietro and Chris Vanco had two goals and an assist. Jake Lewis scored three goals for the Colts.  [ BOX SCORE]
