Thursday, March 28, 2024 Game Results

A few results from games played early today in Nassau County...

Jericho 11, Bellmore JFK 7
Jericho improved to 4-1 with a Nassau Conference B win over visiting Bellmore JFK. Senior attackman Jack Person totaled six points by way of three goals and three assists and goaltender Brandon Klein made 16 saves for the Jayhawks. Bellmore JFK (1-2) was led by senior midfielder Raymond Torchia who scored five goals and junior goalie Jack LaGalia who made 15 saves. CJ Siegler won 16 of 22 faceoffs for the Cougars.   [ BOX SCORE]

East Meadow 12, Hempstead 5
Bryan Tauber scored five goals and Jack Caracciola had four goals and three assists to lead East Meadow (1-2) past Hempstead in Nassau Conference A. Marchello Romano added four assists for the Jets. [ BOX SCORE] 

The remainder of the results for Thursday were:

Friends Academy 12, Freeport 1
Friends Academy was led offensively by Cooper Schultz who scored twice and added five assists.  Clark Beard (3g-3a) and Gianluca Grella (2g-2a) were also major contributors for the Quakers (2-1).  In the non-league loss, Freeport's lone goal was scored by Joshua Corbin. [ BOX SCORE] 

Mineola 13, Valley Stream 1
Mineola continued their winning ways by downing Valley Stream in non-league. Jack McCormack (3g-2a), Rusty Carr (2g-1a), and Joe O'Connell (2g-1a) led the Mustang (4-1) offense, who outscored Valley Stream 8-1 in the second quarter. McCormack has 20 goals and 8 eight assists so far this year.  Imran Paul scored the lone goal for Valley Stream (1-4). [ BOX SCORE] 

Plainedge 6, Oceanside 3
Leading the scoring for Plainedge (4-1) were senior midfielder Jack O'Connor (1g-1a), senior attackman Kevin Keaveney (2g-0a), senior midfielder Domenico Moscato (1g-0a), junior M/A Owen Donnellan (1g-0a), junior long stick middie Matt Chadwick (1g-0a), junior midfielder Brian Keaveney (0g-1a), and junior Jaxson Gawronski (0g-1a).
Senior goaltender Vincent Fuentes made 11 saves to lead Plainedge (4-1) past host Oceanside in non-league. Jack O'Connor (1g, 1a) of Plainedge and Daniel Gilmore (2g) of Oceanside (2-1) were the leading offensive point producers in a low-scoring affair. Sailors keeper Declan Costello made eight saves in the loss. [ BOX SCORE] 

Hicksville 15, Clarke 3
Hicksville picked up their first win of the season by downing Clarke in non-league action. James Kelly (4g-3a), Jesse Brentrewicz (4g-1a), and Frank Barravechia (2g-1a) were the high scorers for the Comets (1-1).  Kevin Vega won 14 of 16 faceoffs for Hicksville. Clarke (0-4) received one goal each from were Joey Kern, Connor Morgan, Justin Montez.

St. John the Baptist 8, Seaford 7
St. John the Baptist (2-1) scored four goals in the fourth quarter to edge host Seaford, 8-7, in non-league. Leading the scoring for Seaford (2-1) was Justin Betz with a gpal and two assists and Tim Navin with a goal and an assist.     [ BOX SCORE]
