Great Days for JFKs - 4/16/24
In Tuesday`s action, both Plainview JFK and Bellmore JFK came out with close victories.
PLAINVIEW JFK 13 - BALDWIN 9: Tied 3-3 after the first quarter, Plainview JFK took an 8-6 halftime lead and was able to hold on for the 13-9 victory. Alex Kantrowitz led the way with 6 points (3g-3a). Chris Tripoli, Nick Altmann, and Josef Saueracker also added 3 goals a piece. Goalie Jake Ilardo made 15 saves and Ethan Schwartzberg won 15 faceoffs. Brady Mahler led Baldwin with 3 goals and Othello Cook made 13 saves for the Bruins.

BELLMORE JFK 12 - MALVERNE/EAST ROCKAWAY 10: After being down 9-4 at half, Bellmore JFK outscored MER 8-1 in the second half to take a 12-10 non-league win. Leading the way for JFK were Jack LaGalia in goal with 11 saves and CJ Siegler who went 20/24 at the faceoff X. Chase Goldman led the offense with 4 goals and 1 assist, Ryan Califano had 3 goals, Zach Greenseid has 2 goals and 3 assists and Ray Torchia had 2 goals and 1 assist. Matthew Delligatti led MER offense with 5 goals and Brian Christodoulou had 16 saves.

VALLEY STREAM 5 - HEMPSTEAD 4: In another close game, Valley Stream`s Jonathan Espinosa won 11 of 13 faceoffs and Anthony Vitulllo had 2 goals to lead VS to its second victory in a row. Nabil Oza, Shaun Torchenaud and Keith Grosso each had a goal and assist for Valley Stream. Chris Lake had 2 goals and an assist for Hempstead.

OCEANSIDE 15 - UNIONDALE 2: Rounding out the Class A action, Oceanside made it 23 in a row over Uniondale 15-2. Ten different players scored for the Sailors, led by Brian Kraemer (2g,2a), Andrew Dato (2g,1a) and Jack Passuello (2g,1a). Ikenna Okoye and Adrian Ayala scored for the Knights.

CAREY 15 - SEWANHAKA 3: Seven different players scored for Carey in the day's only Class B game. Ethan Pelzer had 4 goals and 2 assists, and Chris Obertis (3g,2a) and Christian Korszloski (3g,3a) each scored 3.

Conference C/D was the palce for some close games-
FRIENDS ACADEMY 15 - MINEOLA 14: The Quakers were able to stop the Mineola comeback and come away with a 15-14 victory. Florence Campbell led the FA scorers with 5 goals, Clark Beard (3g,2a) and Cooper Schultz (3g,1a) each added three.
BETHPAGE 9 - ISLAND TREES 8: James LiPietri scored the game winner for Bethpage with under 2 minutes to go in overtime. Goalie Joey Traversa made 3 of his 8 saves in overtime for the Golden Eagles. Check back for more details.

SEAFORD 16 - PLAINEDGE 10: Seaford used an 8-3 first quarter enroute to a 16-10 victory over Plainedge. Jake Anzalone led Seaford going 14/2 at the faceoff x and scoring 4 goals for the Vikings. Daniel Barone also scored 4goals while Peter Barone and Tim Navin added 2 each.

HEWLETT 12 - CLARKE 4: Hewlett extended its winning streak to 5 in a row with a 12-4 win over Clarke. Lucas Barsuaskas had 2 goals for Clarke in the loss.

NORTH SHORE 20 - WEST HEMPSTEAD 3: Eight different players scored for the Vikings including Matthew D'Aversa with 6 goals and 5 assists. D'Aversa now has 54 career assists. Lucas Meglino (4g,1a) and Sawyer DeSeve (1g, 6a) also led the Viking offense. Alex Choi won all 18 of his faceoffs. Gavin Lee (2g,1a) led the Ram offense.

FLORAL PARK 15 - LAWRENCE 1: Thirteen players scored for Floral Park, including Chase McLoughlin, Eric Terwilliger, Ben Galanek, and JP Russell who all scored their first career goals. Sean Hallock had seven saves for the Knights.
And in the day's Feature Matchup in the Power League:
COLD SPRING HARBOR 10 - SYOSSET 9: Syosset scored 4 goals in the fourth quarter to draw even with CSH with just 27 seconds to go, but it wasn't enough as Ryan McGloin scored as the buzzer sounded to give the Seahawaks the win. Nick Turner scored for Syosset to even the score at 9, and after a faceoff scrum CSH's faceoff man Sam Bruno picked up a groundball and found McGloin at the midfield stripe with just 5 seconds to go.
